Join us for an afternoon of Beer, Brats & Big Time Fun. We'll be grilling up bratwurst and pairing it up with some of Germany's finest beers on tap, plus a large selection of local craft beers.  Non-beer drinkers - fear not - several of Sonoma County's best and brightest wineries are donating their signature wines sure to accommodate every discriminating palate.

Get ready to dance.  Northern California's premiere party band, Wonderbread 5, will be on hand to pump up the Beer Garden.  Time to don your Dirndls & Lederhosen and learn the Chicken Dance .  You won't want to miss the Octoberfest of the season.  Doing good has never been so much fun!

about the Steve Wurzell Memorial foundation

Thanks to our partner Eagle Distributing, we have some of the finest international, national and local brews available. Get in a Bavarian mood with some special Oktoberfest beer. Prefer micro-brews? We have plenty. If you don't drink beer, don't let that stop you. We have some of Sonoma County's finest wines being donated by some very special vintners. There's a wine for every palate, and every pleasure. Ready to eat?  We will be grilling Bratwurst and Sausage to perfection, paired with traditional German faire. No hungry people here. Time to work off your beer and dinner. Get ready to dance.  Wonder Bread 5,  Northern California's most in demand dance band, will be rocking the Beer Garden. So let loose...put on an alpine hat, and sing and dance like nobody's watching, and you're in Munich!

The Steve Wurzell Memorial Foundation was launched in 1999 to assist in fully funding Sonoma County Special Olympics. It is named after special athlete, Stevie Wurzell, seen above, who passed away  in 1981. Stevie loved to compete and hang out with his Special O buddies. Our first event, the Steve Wurzell Memorial Corporate Tennis Challenge hosted 12 tennis teams in a corporate challenge format at Wikiup Racquet and Swim Club.  The following reception brought together 80 of Sonoma County's top business executives. In the years to come, our founding sponsors would become passionate in the cause. In a testament to the local business community's desire to support Special Olympics, we would add a luau, attracting over 650 people at Rodney Strong Vineyards, and netting close to $300,000 over a 12 year period for local Special Olympics programs. In 2013, joined by our committed partner Cardinal Newman High School, we teamed up to create Cowbells & Lederhosen:  A Bavarian Oktoberfest. Our goal is to make sure Sonoma County Special Olympics continues to thrive. We want you to meet our very special athletes. They WILL inspire you with their energy, enthusiasm and willingness to bring their best to all they do!
